I trained as a trauma surgeon and osteopathic critical care physician, earned my Master of Public Health, and spent years giving back to the profession that shaped me — writing the DO boards at every level, sitting on the AOBS to shape surgical and critical care certification, and serving on the NBOME Board of Directors.
Then COVID happened. I watched hospitals block life-saving medications while patients died and administrators collected six-figure bonuses per COVID death. The organizations that were supposed to represent me stayed silent. I surrendered my FACOS and FACS — the system didn’t deserve them. Then I walked out for good.
What followed was James Clinic, now a multi-million dollar three-location integrative practice, the MitoRegen™ protocol with peer-published outcomes, and Maverick Medical Ventures — built to pull 100,000 physicians out of the wreckage.
